I leaned into the Book of Shadows somewhat since my last entry. I have assembled a framework for all the different sections, and have started filling in some of the content. Naturally, there is a lot to go, and I was half tempted to switch it to the MediaWiki on it's own. I am going to let this stew a little on Tiki because of the advanced structures and plugins. I need to get better with adding graphics, so there is some work to go on that. Any magical work I do, I will journal over there. This journal will remain the overall general purpose writings.
I flipped through my magickal books, and I need to do some swaps for better ones I have in storage. I put the Egyptian and general purpose stuff in a box which I will swap out later this week. I have some decent Druid stuff, but I have nothing that really covers the Wheel of the Year in the depth that I would prefer. A lot of what I have is kinda random witchy associations, which is not really very helpful. I also have some things that are more ceremonial, which is good, but not what I need for the groundwork I am doing now. I also don't want to inherit a lot of thought and practice from other pagan amateurs, so I don't mind developing my own style and practice with the combinations that work for me.
I did go down a rabbit hole for a moment with candles. I saw some interesting techniques and explored the relative benefits of paraffin vs soy wax, and how coconut can be blended to create a better texture. There was always beeswax ideas, which I still feel is the most natural. In any case, this just shows how quickly I can get turned into a creafter when I look up something simple like an 8 hour glass jar candle.
I had a near panic when I was tracking down my Mantis installation. I found an old one, and was already feeling sad when I saw that exactly none of the new stuff was there. I was not happy, that's for sure. I need to do something similar with the Book of Shadows work to keep track of the things I would like to do, as well as the calendar function to keep the dates for stuff in order. If I could get the journal function and calendar function to work together, that would be awesome.
