Started the NaNoWriMo for this year, working on the sketch for The Deal with Death. So far, I am pretty far ahead, so I am pacing the entries of word counts until I am caught up. There are still a few holes in my plot, but I am working on the critical path chapters since I seem to have those milestones well placed. I think I should be good to go as long as I don't get sidetracked with work or other weirdness.
I am also playing with document/knowledge management web apps, and I have tried several. NextCloud is my current favorite, but I want to play with other options before I cement that into my hosted server. I tried VarDoc, but it is basically a Drupal Book content wrapper, which lacks things like word count and such. I want to do better with a Drupal install with lots of custom content types to build the idea of a book/chapter/section structure.
I have been downloading Astronomy catalogs like crazy, and I am approaching a reasonable set to start trying some queries out. Since I have Zeppelin working, I plan to start there.
Today I started kicking around the idea of a RaspberryPi webserver with Drupal or some such for Dry Dock tracking and reporting. I also like the thought of RStudio BookDown for reporting, so I am playing with a few organizational ideas for that. If I can sort out a way to get devices' MAC addresses logged, that is a near term project as well.
I am a little weirded out by the prospect of diving back into dry dock work, but I absolutely cannot wait, and I have too many things going to prioritize them just now.
