After a long year, we are finally seeing some daylight in the pandemic. Florida is still one of the worst, but with the rest of the nation getting better, the pressure to improve and start normal operations again is steadily growing. The governor won't allow vaccination passports on one hand, but is suing the CDC to start Cruise operations, which require a proof of vaccination. Idiot being blown in the wind by whatever profitable gust comes his way.

This was not a good diet weekend, with banana bread, Manila Kantina, french toast breakfast and chinese dinner today. But, I will be away most of the week working on field deployments, so I may be able to redeem some fasting. Surprisingly, I didn't do any damage while I was in Houston, with all that rich eating. I did Perry's steakhouse, Brennen's, and a Cantina lunch. All of it was fantastic.

However, with Jason leaving abruptly, we still have to put together a plan to place resources where we need them without disrupting other shifting needs. James started last week, and he was not a great resource, but it was the best we had to choose from. I also got a call from Aimee to see if I was working, and we chatted about how the revites may come back sooner than expected. If so, I was top on her list when the time comes.

I had to repair the AEA balloting site, as somehow the files were deleted. I have no idea how it happened, but I repaired it quickly when I got home. I am watching it closely now. I have stripped all the unnecessary files out, and only have the basic login and voting files there. I download the results regularly just in case. I believe this is the last ballot we will do electronically, but I still did some changes to sort out a possible injection fault that could potentially grant access to the directory. Even so, I think over 15 years of work together was quite a run.

I ordered and received some tapas serving plates, which I am in love with. The small ones are great, but the four larger ones are going to be my new favorite thing to cook casseroles and broiled stuff in. I do wish I had gotten a covered casserole, but that can come later. I do want one a little more pretty for that to use as a centerpiece in a sea of turquoise and white small plates.

I also got some hardcopy books, which was quite a change for me. I saw the Very First Bible get published, and then a lot about the compiler, Marcian. So, I just got them all and I am starting on the biography and study of Marcian and the early Marcianite church when it was just being formed and the great struggle with source scriptures was raging. Interesting so far, but very scholastically expository. Ugh.
